Time to Stand Up for Health Care Reform

President Obama has announced three bedrock requirements for real health care reform:

• Reduce Costs — Rising health care costs are crushing the budgets of governments, businesses, individuals and families and they must be brought under control
• Guarantee Choice — Americans must have the freedom to keep whatever doctor and health care plan they have, or to select a new doctor or health care plan if they choose
• Ensure Affordable Care for All — All Americans must have quality and affordable health care

Now we have to show Congress where the American people stand. 

March for Health Care Reform in the Ski-to-Sea Parade  SIGN UP
Saturday, May 23, 11am - 2 pm
Join others who support real health care reform in the Ski-to-Sea Grand Parade. Some 10,000 parade-goers will see our message. We will be marching as a group, wearing red shirts, or the orange or blue shirt of the two healthcare groups participating.

United for National Health Care, a local organization that supports a Single-Payer solution to our health care crisis, is sponsoring the parade entry. The Whatcom Democrats' Platform specifically supports a " national single-payer health care plan with privately-delivered services that cover all medically-necessary services."  There will be signs supporting H.R. 676 (single-payer) as well as generic reform signs, or you can make your own.
