Coming Soon: Whatcom Democrats Book Discussion Group
Submitted by John Flancher on Thu, 2013-02-07 16:39We are in talks with Village Books to co-organize a political book club to meet at Village Books. Unfortunately, the times available at their store are limited, so we may end up having our meetings elsewhere.
The first book that we will discuss is The Political Brain: the Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation by Drew Weston. We will vote on the second book, when we meet.
Call the office at 647-7661 or email office@whatcomdemocrats.com if you are interested in helping to plan meetings, choosing books or participating in any way.

Looking Forward To Spring Gardening?
Submitted by John Flancher on Thu, 2013-02-07 16:34Get ready to dig for Democrats!
Our annual plant sale is coming up in early May. Any extra plants or seedlings that you can donate will help us reach our fundraising goal and help to get Democratic candidates elected. We'll even help you pot the plants, if you've got lots of plants for us. Peggy Borgens will be leading the digging and potting crew again this year, and Ronalee Kinkaid will be hosting the sale at her house on Eldridge Avenue.

Do you know about DFA (Democracy for America)? DFA was founded by Governor Howard Dean and his followers, based on the idea that the grassroots are the key to the Democratic Party’s success. Dean’s presidential campaign reenergized the grassroots by tapping into the progressive values that they cared about: strong communities, security at home and abroad, and liberty for all people to live the way they choose.
