On Sunday, December 9th, over a hundred Whatcom Democrats got together at the Elks Lodge for the annual holiday party. It was a relaxed and mellow evening of social camaraderie, complemented by the musical stylings of the Prawns Jazz Trio. Attendees enjoyed appetizers, ham and turkey with many wonderful side dishes, and the competitive spirit and delicious finale of the dessert dash. Many thanks to all those who contributed to the feast and helped with set-up and clean-up.

Now that the flutter of activity during campaign season has died down, we have a chance to spend more time with family and friends this holiday season. We are having a Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec 9th instead of a monthly membership meeting at Norway Hall in December.

Whether you celebrate Winter Solstice, Christmas, Yule, Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, don't forget to buy your ticket to our Annual Holiday Party, which takes place on December 9th, at the Elks Lodge, at 710 Samish Way. We have many reasons to celebrate this year. So, come share the spirit of the holiday season in the company of your fellow Democrats!

Break out that competitive baking spirit and create a masterpiece for our Dessert Dash dessert auction. We need fabulous desserts of all kinds for the Dessert Dash. Do You Have a Service that you could Offer for our Silent Auction?

This year has flown past and it's time to gather together to enjoy each other and discuss the future. Our December 8th meeting will be our annual Holiday Brunch. We would like everyone to bring something to share. The brunch will be at the Machinists Hall in Ferndale, 10 AM. This is a great time to talk to potential people about running for positions within the party, as our re-organization meeting will take place in January. We are always looking out for more folks to step up and join the 42nd LD Democratic Committee. A special invite to all the PCO's.

The 40th Legislative District will host a holiday party on December 8. The party starts at 3 PM. It will be held at Blanchard Hall, located at 3066 Legg Road. More information is available at www.blanchard.org. Please bring a potluck dish to share.

The Whatcom County Democratic Women’s Club is hosting their annual Holiday Party at the Olive Garden Restaurant, 4276 Meridian in Bellingham from 11:30 to 2 PM on Monday, December 10. We will be collecting diapers for a local organization. Please bring a small gift to share for a fun exchange game. Call Catherine at 647-3888 for more information.
