The House passed HR 3962 on November 7, 2009. The Senate bill is still pending. With the Senate voting Nov. 21st to begin debate, chances are strong that the Senate will pass a bill similar to the House version.

Nine Washington cities are scheduled to hold Health Reform Rallies on Dec 12th to show that Washington State is demanding universal health care for the holidays. Help send a message to Congress that we need universal coverage now.

Vigil for Health Care Reform - The Cost of Delay

The core of this event is a vigil highlighting the economic and human
cost of our broken health care system, and calling on our Senators,
Murray and Cantwell, to take action to pass real health care reform
now. We will present experts to speak to the cost of Health Care
Reform delay, and invite attendees to share their own stories of how
the delay of Reform has caused them financial and physical harm.

Rep. Larsen Earns Thanks for Health Reform Vote

At the November membership meeting, Whatcom County Democrats unanimously adopted a resolution commending Congressman Rick Larsen for his Yes vote on the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962) which contains a "public option" and for opposing the Stupak amendment to H.R. 3962 which imposes unconstitutional restrictions on women's rights to make their own medical decisions.
