Diana McGinness Campaign Kick-off
You are invited to the Whatcom County campaign kick-off for an amazing woman who is running for the House seat held by Rick Larsen in the 2nd Congressional District. Diana McGinness has the courage and depth of knowledge that will enable her to bring comprehensive answers to the complex problems facing us.
Diana’s background as a fraud investigator has made her an astute researcher and activist in fighting fraud by corporations and organized groups. She will take those skills and that knowledge to Congress to unite with like-minded Congressional members to clean up our government.
Every two years, we have the opportunity and obligation to conduct an employee performance review on our Congressional representatives. Rick Larsen has not been up to the job.
Unlike Larsen, Diana will work for campaign finance reform, single payer health care, financial regulation, caps on credit card interest, ending special tax breaks for the wealthy, Internet neutrality, withdrawal from Middle East wars, and mortgage provisions to help people (including our military service men and women) from losing their homes. Also, how can someone be for the creation of jobs without realizing the damages caused by NAFTA and other free-trade agreements?
Voting with Dems on the easy stuff is not basis for a good record. Diana won’t wait for an election to roll around before she takes an active role in both supporting and voting with the people on the big issues, such as the Iraq War and health care reform. She will lead these efforts.
Many of you have met Diana McGinness, and heard her speak. She isn’t running on bumper sticker slogans. Her depth of knowledge on the issues is refreshing and rare in a candidate. By electing Diana to Congress, we will be joining voters across America in sending another voice to aid in the crucial work of building a Congress that is committed to the people.
Everything is up for discussion, all questions and comments are welcome. (For your convenience, and so you can share your thoughts, Diana has launched a new page on her website, “Voters Speak,” where you can leave your comments for Diana at her website)
Diana will need our help in this huge endeavor—but we’re up to it. Together we in the 2nd Congressional District can send a congresswoman who is dedicated to making government work for all, not just the few. Join us on April 13 to change Congress and our country, one seat at a time.
