COAST SALISH DAY/CANOE JOURNEY DAY
Officially recognizing and honoring the first inhabitants of this land.  Experience Tribal canoe landings, cultural presentations, Native art and food, slahal (bone game demonstrations)  Opportunities to experience paddling an ocean-going canoe as fundraiser for canoe families traveling to this years Tribal Canoe Journey. 

Walk, or bike in, or drop passengers and park offsite at 8th and Harris in Fairhaven and take a shuttle.
 
11:15 am Lummi and Nooksack color guard (veterans),
11:30 History of the Canoe Journey, Marylin Bard, daughter of Canoe Journey founder Emmett Oliver,
11:45 reading of Proclamation.
NOON LANDING of at least seven tribal canoes: 3 Lummi, 2 Nooksack, 1 Samish, 1 Swinomish. 
Afternoon Activities will include songs and dances of landing canoe families.
