Carmen Werder, director of Western Washington University's Teaching-Learning Academy and affiliated faculty in the Communication Department, teaches courses on entering into civil dialogue while avoiding contentious debate.

This event is the second part of a lunch series provided by the YWCA and co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County. The noon programs are free and brown bag lunches are welcome. Box lunches are available at $30 for all three noon presentations or $12 for individual talks. Coffee, tea and dessert are provided.
