Alternative Gifting Fair

Think Outside the "Gift Box" 

2nd Annual Alternative Giving Fair is a community event that offers holiday shoppers an alternative to consumerism while supporting local non-profit agencies. Shoppers will be presented with a range of holiday gifts; from a hand-made basket filled with organic seeds from the Center for Self Reliance to a season pass from the Community Boating Center or a $25 donation to save a piece of wetland. Each gift and donation will include a holiday card that describes the gift and the organization that it supports.

The gift-giver has the satisfaction of knowing that her or his money bettered the world, and the recipient is honored to have “received” such a meaningful and precious gift!

RE Sources and The RE Store will have a table with gift ideas such as RE Store gift cards, gift memberships to RE Sources, RE Blend coffee and other RE-usable and consumable items.

Over 20 local non-profit agencies will be offering alternative gift ideas, so come check it out! (Participants include: Seattle Youth Symphony Program, Pickford Theater, Idiom Theater, Alt. Humane Society, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood, Appliance Depot, Mt Baker Theatre, Bellingham Food COOP, Bellingham Theatre Guild, Bellingham Chamber Chorale, Allied Arts, Habitat for Humanity, Womencare Shelter, Whatcom Humane Society, Common Threads Farm, Woodstock Conservancy, Bellingham Bay Community Boating, Unity Productions, Kulshan Community Land Trust, RE Sources/RE Store, Whatcom Symphony Orchestra & Animals as Natural Therapy.)
