Co Council Hearing

Please attend to show your appreciation of the long thankless hours the current members of the Whatcom County Council devote to responsibly carrying out their duties; and urge the Council to reject the tax-cap mini-initiative which is intended to obstruct the exercise of sound representative government.

Two main agenda items:

6:00 p.m. - Council meeting agenda dedicated mostly to two public hearings:
(1) receipt of public and agency input on the initial Urban Growth Area proposals received by Whatcom County, and
(2) an ordinance limiting the total annual real estate property tax increase, including the use of banked capacity, to 1% per year unless approved by a majority vote of the people.
