Democratic County Convention & LD Caucus
The Whatcom County Democratic Party will hold its bi-annual convention on April 10, 2010, at a location to be announced. Democrats in the 42nd Legislative District, and the Whatcom County precincts of the 40th Legislative District, will also be caucusing on April 10th, in conjunction with the County Convention.
The main business of the 2010 County Convention will be the adoption of a Whatcom County Democratic Party Platform, which will define the values of the democrats in Whatcom County and guide the party leadership in policy positions for the next two years.
The main business of the Legislative District Caucus will be to elect delegates to the Democratic State Convention to be held in late June. The State Democratic Convention will adopt a state platform and may select candidates as the nominee of the Democratic Party in 2010 election contests.
Any registered voter in Whatcom County who considers him or herself a Democrat may participate in the decision-making of the LD Caucus or County Convention.
