National Policy on Absentee Voting

Printable Version

WHEREAS voting in many states is done on electronic voting machines; and

WHEREAS many of these voting machines don’t produce a voter verifiable paper trail; and

WHEREAS these voting machines can easily be manipulated to falsify the vote;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Democrats (WCDCC) support federal legislation that every state should have a provision for absentee ballots to be filed even if the voters are present in their residences on Election Day; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that people in states with electronic voting machines should be urged to file absentee ballots to be assured of an accurate “paper trail” record of their votes.
