Fighting For Our Future

It’s time to gear up for 2012. The Republicans are on the march, and eager to undo all of our accomplishments in the last four years. They want to reinstate Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, hand over the job market to the 1% and send women’s rights back to the Stone Age.

We aren’t going to let that happen.

Welcome to the Democratic Caucuses 2012. Together we are banding together and doing the neighborhood level organizing that was such a success four years ago. We are recruiting volunteers, designing our message and working to ensure that on election day this November, we can go to sleep with a smile.

In Whatcom County, we have two congressional races gearing up, with an open seat in the County and Rick Larsen running for re-election in Bellingham. We have three stellar state Representatives in the 40th LD that need protecting (Kevin Ranker, Kris Lytton and Jeff Morris) and we have an opportunity to send Vincent Buys and Jason Overstreet packing from the 42nd LD.

We have a difficult governor’s race ahead, where the Republican Rob McKenna has his eyes on gutting our public education system, while our man Jay Inslee is ready to move our economy into the next decade with investment in clean energy.

Winning elections isn’t rocket science. With each campaign, we Whatcom Democrats have improved our tools, refined our message and approach, organized our efforts for maximum impact, and expanded the base of progressive voters. However, each year we face two limiting factors: money and volunteers. Here’s where you come in:

Please give to support this Caucus and to support our campaigns to elect Democrats--we rely on citizens, not powerful corporations and shady SuperPACs.

Sign up today, or call or visit our office, and volunteer to help us make a difference this year. Together, we can be the safeguards of our future.
