Steve Schuck Resigns
by John Flancher
Longtime Membership Committee chair Steve Schuck resigned from the Whatcom Democrats Executive Board in December. Steve took charge of the Membership Committee in 2007, and since then he has worked tirelessly to increase and maintain the Whatcom Democrats’ dues-paying membership, with consistently impressive results. He also worked on a variety of other projects. Steve maintained the various databases that we rely on to keep track of our membership (and to remind us to renew every year!), he set up and maintained the computers, copiers and printers in the office, he counted votes at County Conventions and other occasions on which the membership voted, he set up meeting spaces, and he was an unfailing source of information about the party for volunteers and new board members (such as your Grassroots Editor) alike. In short, he has been an exceptionally dedicated and hardworking member of the Executive Board. We don’t blame him for needing a break, but he’ll be awfully hard to replace. Thanks, Steve, and best of luck in all of your future endeavors.
